coatmaster AG has its roots in the development and distribution of state-of-the-art measuring system technologies that inspect and measure industrial coatings in a non-contact and non-destructive manner. Our flagship product, the coatmaster, sets standards in industrial coating thickness measurement. Supported by our worldwide patented and award-winning technology, it is possible to measure coating thicknesses early in the production process to ensure optimal quality and efficiency.

Since our founding in 2011, the company has evolved significantly. With headquarters in Winterthur, Switzerland, and a subsidiary of Winterthur Instruments GmbH in Germany, we have greatly expanded our sphere of influence. The coatmaster is now in use at over 2000 production sites worldwide. With more than 40 dedicated partner companies around the globe, we are strengthening our network and continuously improving our capabilities to meet the needs of the industry.

Our ever-growing, highly motivated team of over 50 employees work in various departments, including research and development, production, project planning, sales and administration. With their passion and expertise, they ensure that we continue to consolidate our position as the unrivalled technology leader in the field of point and image-based coating thickness measurement.

We are particularly proud of our proprietary Advanced Thermal Optics (ATO) technology, which promises unparalleled measurement accuracy even in extreme industrial environments. Through the use of artificial intelligence solutions, we ensure perfect settings for coating systems and enable their complete automation. This not only helps reduce the complexity of coating equipment, but also addresses the skills shortage.

Our technologies are applicable in a wide range of industries, including battery and fuel cell manufacturing, automotive manufacturing and automotive components, as well as contract coating (wet paint and powder coating).
